- "Copper engraving with later but not recent hand colouring. Overall size : 54.2cms.x 42.2cms. Image size : 508mm.x 380mm. Inset plans of Reading and Buckingham. Scales of distance and compass rose at bottom centre with elaborate cartouches on either side, coats of arms belonging to the titled families of Buckingham. English text to verso with, as customary, an alphabetical table of the towns,’rivers and memorable places’ and a description of the county itself. Speed notes that ‘the aire (in Buckinghamshire) is ,’passing good, temperate, and pleasant, yeelding the body health and the mind content’. Centre fold as issued. some marks in margins and very slight brownness to the right of the cherubs on the left otherwise very good condition"
