Description:: Steel engraving with original hand colouring. Overall size in sand mount : 37.8cms x 34cms. Image size : 240mm x 190mm. Some faint smudge marks in left hand blank area else V.G. Sydney Hall worked as a map-maker at a time when the demand for highly decorative maps had declined. However his renowned eye for detail was put to good use in the many maps he produced for several atlases of the period where clarity and accuracy took precedence over elaborate decoration.
