Description:: "Uncommon. thus. Copper engraving with original outline hand colouring. Two maps on one sheet Overall size: 52.9cms x 43cms; image size: 428mm x 353mm. Old ink number top right of sheet. Central crease as published , very faint browning at crease, not offensive, some marking to margins but maps themselves lovely condition. Bermudas has five text vignettes including ; Hereabout they Fish for Whales from the latter end of March ‘till the middle of May, generally with good Success.. very detailed, stunning maps.Emanuel Bowen (1714-1767) was mapmaker to King George II and Louis XV (France), and his most distinguished work is the System of Geography from which this map came. "
