Shows Maria Isands, Caroline Islands, Sandwich Islands, coast of New Holland and Solomins Islands, New Hebrides, Friendly Idlands, Navigators Islands, Society Islands, Marquesas amongst others.James Gall invented a system of printing for the blind of the Edinburgh Blind Asylum and he published many books concerning education. His son-in-law Robert Inglis joined the firm in 1847 and this map dates from their partnership together. The maps are characterised by their lucid printing and soft, distinctive original full wash hand colouring"
