A Large, impressive and very detailed map of China, Korea and Formosa showing the regional division depicted in strong original colour. Steel engraving with original wash hand colouring. Overall sheet size: 83cms x 65.8cms. Image size: 782mm x 608mm. Three scales of distance bottom right (Chines, British and Geographical miles), decorative title and table middle right with information on the size and population of each province. One faint patch of browning above the note on the great wall; small repair on verso top and bottom centrefold else very good condition indeed. James Wyld was apprenticed to William Faden , taking over the business in 1823 and becoming Geographer to His Majesty (George IV and William IV) and his maps were among the most excellent published in the Nineteenth Century. He enjoyed a very successful career but died early from overwork. He son continued and expanded the business.

In the UK, now, we send either by recorded or registered delivery so that the parcels are trackable - we are happy to send to a work address but please add the name of the organisation or the Post Office will not deliver the parcel.
We will send out parcels within two days of receiving the all clear from the online banking services. Parcels should arrive within 2 to 3 days in the U.K. and within 21 days elsewhere. In the rare and unfortunate case that damage does occur in transit all packaging must be kept.
