Overall size in thick off white museum mountcard mount (and backing of the same material) : 37.8 cms x 52.2cms. Image size: 230mm x 366mm. Very good condition These engravings are a magnificent monument to the Amsterdam Physic Garden, of which Jan Commelin was director.The plants described and figured were collected in Asia, the Americas and South Africa (Cape of Good Hope) by crew members of the merchant ships of the Dutch East and West India companies and donated to the Amsterdam Horticultural Garden, of which Jan Commelin was the director. Many of the plants described were the first specimens introduced in Europe. The plates are engraved after paintings by Johann and Maria Moninck and others.

In the UK, now, we send either by recorded or registered delivery so that the parcels are trackable - we are happy to send to a work address but please add the name of the organisation or the Post Office will not deliver the parcel.

We will send out parcels within two days of receiving the all clear from the online banking services. Parcels should arrive within 2 to 3 days in the U.K. and within 21 days elsewhere. In the rare and unfortunate case that damage does occur in transit all packaging must be kept.
