Robert Morden (fl.1668 - 1703)

Robert Morden worked at "The Atlas" in New Cheapside and Cornhill where he worked as a publisher, book and map seller, cartographer and maker of instruments and globes.

He produced a varied range of maps such as geographical playing cards, a 12 sheet plan of London and the maps for which he is best known : the1695 edition of Camden's Britannia, published by Dr. Edmund Gibson, Bishop of Lincoln and was previously published in 1637 with maps by William Hole and William Kip. It Is generally thought that there were four editions of the Morden Britannia - 1695, 1722, 1753 and 1772.
