Highly decorative map of lower Saxony including Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, Hanover, the Baltic region etc Overall sheet size: 60cms x 51.7cms ; image size: 573mm x 496mm. Highly decorative and densely engraved showing villages, towns, rivers and lakes. Title cartouche shows a female archer with her dog, other mythological figures plus the game and produce of the region. The second cartouche shows two distance scales. Matthaeus Seutter was one of the most important German mapmakers of the eighteenth century. Born in Augsburg in 1678, he became an apprentice to the distinguished cartographer Johann Baptiste Homann in Nuremberg. In 1707 he established himself as a map publisher in Augsburg, and quickly became Homann's main rival. His business flourished and by 1731 he was appointed Geographer to the Imperial Court. He produced some of the century's most beautiful maps, atlases, and globes.

In the UK, now, we send either by recorded or registered delivery so that the parcels are trackable - we are happy to send to a work address but please add the name of the organisation or the Post Office will not deliver the parcel.

We will send out parcels within two days of receiving the all clear from the online banking services. Parcels should arrive within 2 to 3 days in the U.K. and within 21 days elsewhere. In the rare and unfortunate case that damage does occur in transit all packaging must be kept.
