FAQ

How do I know that these are genuine antique items and not modern reproductions?

We have been in the antiques business since 1978 and so have a lot of expertise. The items are guaranteed to be antique maps or antique prints and to have been published at or around the year stated and any item found not to be so could be returned for a refund any time after purchase. We have lots of testimonials from customers which demonstrates the quality of our antique maps and prints.

How can I be sure that my credit card details are safe?

Your credit card details are never seen by us. Your details go straight to Worldpay and we never see them. Even if you order over the telephone (01497 820 539), we will not store your credit card details. So, please order in confidence.

How much do I have to pay for delivery of my order?

Delivery costs will vary based upon your location / country and the number of items you are ordering (the more you order the cheaper each item is to deliver!). Full details of our delivery & shipping costs are described here.

Do I have to pay VAT? / What is VAT?

VAT stands for value added tax, which is charged on goods sold by Mostlymaps within the European Union (EU). In accordance with the laws governing members of the EU, we are obliged to charge VAT on all orders delivered to destinations in member countries of the EU. VAT is charged at the current UK rate to all countries within the EU as required under UK tax law (HMRC). VAT is only payable on prints whereas maps, like books, are exempt. The total price to pay is what is shown at checkout (plus postage). The total price displayed for each print is inclusive of UK VAT.

For orders OUTSIDE of the EU, the UK VAT amount will be deducted. Your final price during checkout will reflect the VAT deduction plus shipping costs.

How long should it take to receive my order?

We will send out parcels within two days of receiving the all clear from the online banking services. Parcels should arrive within two to three days in the U.K. and within twenty one days elsewhere.

My item has arrived damaged - what should I do?

We do our outmost to package all of our prints for the utmost protection and they are labelled clearly as Fragile items / ‘Do not bend’. In the rare and unfortunate case that damage does occur in transit all packaging must be kept. Call us (01497 820 539) at the earliest opportunity so that we can investigate for you with the postal services.
