Surveyed in 1872 by Colonel Bayly R.E. engraved in 1877 under the direction of Colonel Bayly, C.B,RE at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton and Published by Colonel A.C. Cooke C.B, R.E, 31st October 1878. Scale 1/2500 or 25.344 inches to a Mile. Overall sheet size: 104.2  cms width x 73.4 height; image size: 961mm x 690mm including text and imprint. Stamp Record Office and Revised Price 10/- bottom and top right. 105.7cms x 74.5 cms. Oval blindstamp in top margin of lion and unicorn rampant with words,'Board of Agriculture Ordnance Survey' at outer edge of oval. Some faint words in margins,'First edition', two X and five tape strengthenings to edge splits (not near image); prominent centrecrease; some marks to margins and little greyness to Thames else highly detailed map in very good condition. London Bridge Station mid left with the lines traversing the sheet (Soouth Eastern Railway/London Brighton and South Coast Railway). Title top left above neatline: St Mary Magdalen Bermondsey, St John Horsleydown, St George the Martyr, St Mary Newington,St George in the East, St Botolph without Aldgate, St Olave, St Thomas,St John of Wapping, St Mary Rotherhithe& St Saviour Phs Precinctof St Katharine (Ex.Par.)
