Overall size in hinged off white fully conservation mount and back (so floating freely apart from two pieces of archival tape) : 29.4cms x 35.2cms. Engraved size : 142mm x 192mm. Calligraphic title; scale of miles; compass top right. Very good condition apart from one grey mark right blank. John Mostyn Armstrong,son of mapmaker Andrew Armstrong, was a Surveyor, mapmaker and publisher fl. 1769-1791 working in London and Norwich. He produced several maps of the post-roads, Map of the Hebrides, or Western Islands of Scotland, Plan of Great Yarmouth and also wrote History and Antiquities of the county of Norfok with maps of Norfolk as well as the Scotch Atlas with its finely engraved, detailed county maps.
