Copper engraving. Original outline hand colouring with moderna colouring enhancement to the two cartouches. Overall size : 74.5cms.x 55cms. Image size : 701mm.x 524mm. Decorative cartouche at top right with dedication cartouche at bottom left.. London is shown on the other side of the Thames and Brixton, Peckham, Camberwell, Clapham all shown in detail on this map as part of Surrey. 'Surrey' in old hand on verso ; archival strengthening 12.3cms bottom of centrefold and another 8 cms next to it and 19.5 strengthening on verso to extreme bottom of right margin; one marginal repair top margin else stunning map in good condition. This map was produced for inclusion in the Large English Atlas which was the finest county atlas produced in the 18th.Century and was the largest scale atlas produced to date.
