Left hand margin and left edge of strip one slightly browned ; extremely faintly browned at right hand side else good condition. Map covers Cumberland, Scotland, Northumberland.:Carlisle, Jedburgh, Kelso, Berwick John Senex (fl.1690-1740). Engraver, publisher, surveyor and geographer to Queen Anne, Senex was also an astronomer and globe maker. He produced pocket globes as well as larger globes in partnership with Charles Price. He collaborated further with Charles and James Maxwell to produce several fine maps of the world and the continents and also many loose maps of individual countries, Inspired perhaps by his interest in road maps, he issued, in 1719 a miniature revised edition of Ogilby's 'Britannia' and many subsequent editions of this work were published.
