Copper engraving. Overall size : 77.1cms.x 59.4cms. Image size : 699mm.x 524mm. Decorative cartouche at top left with Dedication cartouche at top right ; scale of distance at bottom right. Original outline colour. Centre fold as issued ; centrefold with archival strengthening on verso, faint browning to margins in particular. one nick in bottom margin. Packed full of detail not usually given i.e 'Powick' formerly the Estate of the Beauchamps. Delightful note stating that:'The Malvern Hills are very high and lofty, rising like Stairs one above another for the space of about 7 miles together, On these Hills are two Medicinal Springs Malvern magna and parva...etc The Large English Atlas was the finest county atlas produced in the 18th.Century and was the largest scale atlas produced to date. Clearly engraved in detail with views and panels of text in the areas surrounding each county describing the commerce and the state of the principal cities. Uncommon.
