Translation verso: ' The county of Hereford or Herefordshire is nearly circular in shape. To the east lie Worcester and Gloucestershire, to the south Monmouthshire, to the west Radnor and Brecknock and to the north Shropshire. The countryside is beautiful: good for pasturing cattle and capable of bearing all kinds of fruit and generally providing for all of life's needs. There is no country more fertile in all England.
