Image size : 526mm.x 347mm. Blank areas filled with information both geographical, historical and political. Includes text on some towns, their manufactures and natural products, Earls of Radnor and Earls of Brecknock. Dedication in decorative cartouche: To Thos. Morgan Esqr. His Majesty's Lieutt. & Custos Rotulorum for the County of Brecon. This plate is dedicated by his most humble servt. Tho. Kitchin. Many farms, houses and the owners thereof shown on the map itself. Remargined at top of map with old paper; marginal archival repairs on verso in margins and not evident from front of map (four nicks repaired and one crack at the plate mark) else very good condition. Thomas Kitchin, 1718-84. Kitchin worked as a publisher and engraver from premises at The Star in Holborn, London. He was an engraver of the highest ability and produced a broad range of books on a variety of subjects including topographical works. By himself Kitchen produced a large number of maps of every kind for periodicals such as the London Magazine and for books on history and antiquities. He is probably best known though, for his parnership with Emanuel Bowen with whom he published, in 1755, The Large English Atlas, which contained the finest county maps of the !8th.Century.
