Copper engraving with full wash original hand colouring, the different colours indicating the different boundaries.  Overall sheet size: 37.2cms x 30.3cms; image size: 333mm x 266mm.  Overall browning, odd mark to margins and to the right of the cartouche else very good.  Uncommon map of North America, from Brown's General Atlas (the first Scottish atlas), engraved by Menzies.

Thomas Brown 1764-1820 was an Edinburgh based bookseller, publisher, printseller, stationer and originally an engraver.  His maps are uncommon.
