Overall sheet size: 76.5cms x 58.2cms; 702mm x 53.2mm.  Faint mount burn outside plate mark from old mounting and slight marginal browning, centrefold as published, one edge tear, some faint browning in blank areas - see magnified phot- else good condition

Bowen and Kitchin’s Large English Atlas are  'characterized by detailed texts in the spaces surrounding the map and by elegant rococo decoration, which became the hallmark of his engraving' (Iolo Roberts and Menai Roberts for DNB) and which is  ‘by far the most important eighteenth-century English atlas to be published before the appearance of John Cary's new English atlas in 1787' (Hodson).
