Long title:  Africa According to Mr D’Anville with Several Additions & Improvements , a Particular Chart of the Gold Coast wherein are distinguished all the European Forts and Factories .  The whole Illustrated with a Summary Description Relative to the Trade and Natural produce , Manners, Customs of that Part of the World.  ‘ Top two sheets conjoined of a four sheet map of Africa published by Robert Sayer in 1772.  Copper engraving with original and later hand colouring.  Some archival repairs on verso: all four  corner tips re-instated with old paper; edge tears re-inforced on verso  and one tear in map to the right of Gulf of Guinea, not visible from front, all three folds strengthened with old paper on verso .  Flaws barely noticeable from the front. Seven scales of miles.  Two text boxes to left hand side of map. Robert Sayer's map is a fine combination of known information and blank areas where little or nothing is known.
