Engraved by Gavin & Son.   Copper engraving with full wash original hand colouring, the different colours indicating the different boundaries.  Overall sheet size: 38.2cms x 31.8cms; image size: 341mm x 291mm. Includes Taiwan and Korea (here Corea) . The map is of particular interest for the sea between Korea and Japan, labelled here : Sea of Corea .  Compass rose, scale of miles .  Some light browning around Eastern Ocean and in blank land of Laos otherwise very good condition .  

Thomas Brown 1764-1820 was an Edinburgh based bookseller, publisher, printseller, stationer and originally an engraver.  His maps are uncommon.
