Copper engraving with original hand colouring.  Overall sheet size: 31.6cms x 38.8cms; image size: 290mm x 350mm.  Beautifully coloured map  , showing Gulf of Corea and Van Diemens Land as part of the mainland of ‘ New Holland’ or Australia.  A scarce map in very good condition apart from some marginal marks - see magnified image.

Thomas Brown 1764-1820 was an Edinburgh based bookseller, publisher, printseller, stationer and originally an engraver.  His maps are uncommon.
