Long title: Smith’s Map of England & Wales, Containing the whole of the Turnpike Roads, Railways & Canals with the Distance from London to every Principal Town and from one Market Town to Another.  Dissected into 24 squares and linen backed folding into paper self-backs and then into a green slipcase with a printed label on the front.  Label has a little tide mark but is in good condition; bumping to right corner of slipcase.  Colour key to Railways completed (blue); Railways in progress blue with dots; proposed (red) and the label on the slipcase asserts that there are ,’upwards of 200 projected lines for which Acts of Parliament are to be applied for during the present session’.  Map originates in Edinburgh.  Overall sheet size : 61.8cms x 80.2cms.  Some brown marking top right blank and lighter dusting in all blanks.
