Copper engraving with later hand colouring. Overall sheet size : 59cms x 44.2cms.  Image size: 568mm x 426mm.   Shows the area from Appledore to the Isle of Shepey. Old folds as issued.  Approximately 30 ships of various sizes are depicted in the sea. Watermarked paper. Top margin strengthened with old paper; 4 cns x 3.5cms archival strengthening bottom margin on verso. Small edge split right margin repaired on verso.  Publisher’s name, scale of distance , date and compass points in old hand top right margin . Some blue in sea blotchy and odd mark in sea but an  uncommon and striking map in good condition .
 Fricx (1644-1730) is best known for his maps of the military campaigns of the War of the Spanish Succession 1701-14. He was a bookseller and publisher in Brussels.
