A fascinating article by Eugene Burdon can be viewed by http://www.blha.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/BOAN97.pdf by copying and pasting this link.  It asserts that this map in its first edition may have been the first map to be based on an Ordnance survey and explains how Faden expected to be able to sell many copies to the visitors to the Review as well as to the officers.
