Copper engraving with later hand colouring. Overall sheet size: 48.3 cms x 33.4cms. Image size: 472mm x 296mm. Map of the eastern Mediterranean as far as Rome, with thirteen full-length portraits of the Apostles & St Paul under the map. The dedication is to Sir William Lowther (c.1612-1688), who entered the House of Commons in 1660. After welcoming Charles II back from exile that year he was re-elected to Parliament in 1661 as a member of the so-called 'Cavelier Parliament' (1661-79). Bottom right corner missing so augmented right margin with old paper and small re-inforcement 4.6cms at bottom of centrefold else very good condition.
