Copper engraving with original outline hand colouring. Overall size: 55.9cms x 44.5cms. Image size: 475mm x 366mm. A line of mountburn 5mm outside neatline (from not fully conservation grade mountcard); overall toning ; from two pinpricks bottom margin and one in neatline at Meridies (only visible when held up to the light); thin strip of old tape at top on verso else very good condition.
Purchasing the original Saxton plate, Lea added town plans and roads based on the work of Speed and Ogilby. He also added town symbols, different coats of arms and changes to the title. Blank verso browned by lack of archival backing when previously framed.
